The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman AlexieWhat did I like best about this book?
The comedy it had in the book. It's the type of comedy it has is what a kid in high school would think was funny. The struggle he had in a bad community and money issues. I liked that the book was about a teenager trying to find himself in a different scene, but at the same time, the book talks about real-life topics. Summary: It is about this boy that had to struggle in a community where nobody really succeeded in school but he was really smart. He went to a different school where there are more privileged kids than him and a good school. He had a best friend that turned his back on him because he was trying to make it out of that neighborhood and he had to what he had to do. Sensitive Material: The book talks about some " guy talk ", some homosexual jokes , and curse words . Recommended by Victor C. and Hugo C. |

The Princess Diaries by Meg CabotWhat did I like best about this book?
I like this book because the author immediately sucks you in and makes you care because the main character Mia is so relatable and not prissy or too fake. I can tell Meg used some elements of her life to make it somewhat realistic. Summary: Mia is a regular teenage girl who one day finds out she is the princess of Genovia. She's a regular awkward teenager with yield sign shaped curly hair. She has to learn the ways of a princess but balance a "regular" teenager's life. Sensitive Material: I would rate this pg 13 for crudeness. Recommended by Jordan H. |
